The Bible's 31,102 verses are divided into 31 themed 1,000 Verse Divisions

Whenever I present another perfect set of patterns and numbers from the Bible's Numeric Map, the insecure part of me says something like "...here you go again, nobody will ever believe this, it's just too impossible". Even God could not line all these things up so perfectly and have the text all still make sense". I agree, logically, it does not make sense that there are 31 divisions in the Bible that have never been realized before - and it is natural to imagine a better explanation for them is that I've come up with pattern descriptions that will match any set of verses. I understand - but although this arrangement of divisions seems so improbable, it is also the one I find most easily seen and understood, if you take the time to look at it.

The arrangement: Imagine you were given a task to write a 31 thousand line essay and were required to cover 31 different aspects of the subject study you are writing about. In addition, you were required to use exactly 1000 lines for each aspect of the topic, and the topics needed to flow smoothly from the last verse in one topic to the first verse of the next. A pretty impossible request, but that's the structure I see in the Bible's 31 themed sections/divisions. For example, provided below are the verses associated with the division transition at the 24,000th Bible verse - Note how there is a transition or conclusion in the 24,000th verse and how this verse signals the end of one themed division, and the beginning of the next. Here are the verses -

  • 23,998 -- Matt 24:40 "Then there will be two men in the field; one will be taken and one will be left
  • 23,999 -- Matt 24:41 "Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one will be left.
  • 24,000 -- Matt 24:42 "Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming.

Note the how the 998th and 999th verse speak of the biblical event that is likely the last thing to happen before the coming of the Lord. It seems a picture of the catching up of the godly followed by the 24,000th verse which introduces the next section by warning - "be ready, you don't know when this day will come". The following 1,000 verses continue on with this subject. You will find this type of a pattern at each of the 31 division transition points.

As in everything in the Bible, all the themes of these 31 divisions line up perfectly with the themes for God's Redemption Pattern. Not only are these transition verses great validations of the themes for numbers 1-31, but they also help us better understand the Numeric Map associations with these themes as well. That is, we learn about the themes by examining them where ever we find them, and then we use the themes to aid interpretation areas of scripture we don't understand.

Of course, this sounds like a nice coincidence until you see the evidence for yourself. On this page are simple explanations of how I perceive the themes for some of these 31 transitional verse locations. These are just my guess at the themes, but I do not consider myself a Bible scholar, so those much more educated than I will likely come up with better explanations for them. The point is not so much that I can tell you what the divisions are about, but more importantly, to try and explain they exist.

How did I discover these transitions?

I first began to suspect the possibility of these major divisions when, in my normal studies, I was observing that many key events seemed associated with verse numbers ending in 000 (1000). Over time I began to observe more and more of these and noticed the thousand related verse numbers also fit Redemption Pattern numbers I write about. It seemed beyond the possibility of chance these things lined up so well. After seeing more examples than I could dismiss, I began to look deeper into the possibility and my results seemed to confirm my suspicion - each of the transitional verses were at special points in the context of scripture. I think you can see the pattern for yourself by examining some of the key verses I originally stumbled upon. Consider how these examples seem to be at key points in God's Word.

Note:The numbering fits KJV, NASB, NIV and other like structured Bibles. Some ask - how do I assume these are the Bibles with a perfect structure? ANSWER: Simply, because this perfection is found in them. For example, Matthew 24:42 is the 24,000th verse that aligns with six different associations of number 24. Any book, chapter or verse added or deleted would remove this perfection. I don't imagine any other Bible numbering will fit the findings I write about. Could God have created other perfect books - anything is possible.
Best Examples of Key Transitional Events Found on The Bible's 1000 verse boundaries
  • 4000th verse - Num 10:11-The exact verse the pillar of cloud first moved and wilderness wandering began - fit the theme of #4 and wilderness wandering
  • 5000th verse - Deu 3:24 - Moses pleads with God to enter the promised land - fit theme of #5 and consequences for sin
  • 6000th verse - Josh 7:23 - Sin of articles under the ban exposed - a perfect for theme of #6 and sin.
  • 7000th verse - Judg 18:6 - A levite priest from Bethlehem (Jud 17:9) responds to the question from the men from the sons of Dan they have the Lord's approval to go forward - fits #7 theme of Jesus the good shepherd
  • 9000th verse - 1Kin 8:14 - The temple was just completed, the presence of God entered it and in this verse the king faced the assembly of the people of Israel - fits the #9 theme of waiting for the Lord's return. The king in this verse seems to be a picture of Jesus Christ.
  • 10,000th verse - 2Kin 17:16 - declares God had enough of Israel's sin and and his judgment has been decided - in the next verse he removed them from his sight - fits the #10 theme of final things/decisions or last words.
  • 12,000th verse - 2Chr 36:6 - Judgment and theme for #12 - Judah led away captive to Babylon
  • 18,000th verse - Isa 18:2 - Announcing the Lord's return and Judgment to come - fits theme for #9 and #99 (18/2)
  • 21,000 verse - Eze 22:23 - "..say to her, 'You are a land that is not cleansed..." - God's wrath on the wicked, God had found no one to stand in the gap - fit the theme for 21 and of 3 (2+1) for purity.
  • 22,000 verse - Dan 9:11 - (especially powerful) (911) "Indeed all Israel has transgressed Your law and turned aside" - the nation cursed because they had turned from God. A wrath to be poured out on them - fit #22 which is of Jesus
  • 23,000th verse - Zech 8:23 - People were seeking protection from God by going with the Jews because God was with them - is verse 23 and fits theme for #23 which is God with us. (Psalm 23, the good shepherd and many verses declare "where two or three are gathered, I am in their midst").
  • 24,000th verse - Matt 24:42 -- The great and terrible day of the Lord. Maybe my most key Numeric Map example is the six alignments of the number 24 on this 24,000th verse at Matthew 24:42 "be on the alert for you do not know which day your lord is coming".
  • 25,000th verse - Luke 2:26 - The baby Jesus is first presented at the temple by his parents. this 25,000th verse specifically says this priest would not die until he saw the Lord's Christ. He was seeing Jesus in this verse. This is why I strongly believe the theme for #25 is Christmas related - not the birth of Jesus, but #25 is about appearances of Jesus on earth or Jesus in our presence.
  • 30,000th verse - Heb 3:4 - "The builder of all things is God" - fit the #3 theme of holiness and righteousness
  • 31,000th verse - Rev 18:6 - "...pay her back as she has paid..." - very similar to the 24,000th verse in that the prior verse the faithful are called to come out (catching up, rapture) before the judgment and wrath begin.

These are the verses I took special note of when first pondering the possibility of this pattern and are just the examples that seem most obvious - the numbers not listed above appear to fit the pattern equally well, but are not as easily explained. Specific verse references and text for all 31 are noted below. Upon examining them for yourself, I think you will also have to wonder if they do represent 31 God intended divisions of the Bible's text.

The sections in more detail

A list of the 31 transitional verses - the 1000th, 2000th, 3000th, 4000th, etc. verses of the bible.

They represent the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. 1000 verse divisions of the Bible.

(below area will be filled in over time - 4/3/2010)

1-999 - Gen 1-1 -- In the beginning - Beginnings including prehistory, creation, generations from Adam to Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob Joseph, family histories and covenants. The first few words of Genesis 1:1 is a good description for this first 1000 verses - "In the beginning..."

1,000-1,999 - Gen 34:19 -- #1 A separation and new beginning in Bethel - The acceptance of the deception and subsequent slaughter by Jacob's Sons forces a new beginning - people put away their foreign gods and God moves them to Bethel -- "The young man did not delay to do the thing, because he was delighted with Jacob's daughter. Now he was more respected than all the household of his father".

2,000-2,999 - Exo 17:16 -- #2 Joshua (means Jesus) overwhelms Amalek and God seems to point to him as the new leader - Two verses earlier God tells Moses to write this in a book and recite it to Joshua. He is the one who has one this first battle and will go on to fight many others in leading Israel into the promised land - "...the LORD will have war against Amalek from generation to generation."
3,000-3,999 - Lev 11:2 -- #3 God's law -Learning to live with a holy God" - God's Laws -- "These are the creatures which you may eat from all the animals that are on the earth".

4,000-4,999 - Num 10:11 -- #4 The Wilderness wandering officially begins - the cloud moves --"Now in the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth of the month, the cloud was lifted from over the tabernacle of the testimony;"

5,000-5,999 - Deu 3:24 -- #6 Consequences for sin - Moses pleading to enter promised land -- 'O Lord GOD, You have begun to show Your servant Your greatness and Your strong hand; for what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do such works and mighty acts as Yours?

6,000-6,999 - Josh 7:23 -- #6 sin exposed -- Articles prevented under the ban exposed -- They took them from inside the tent and brought them to Joshua and to all the sons of Israel, and they poured them out before the LORD.

7,000-7,999 - Judg 18:6 -- #7 Good shepherd, A levite priest from Bethlehem -- approves the way they are going - The priest said to them, "Go in peace; your way in which you are going has the LORD'S approval."

8,000-8,999 - 1Sam 30:21 -- #8 The Godly go to meet the redeemer when he returns -- When David came to the two hundred men who were too exhausted to follow David...went out to meet David and to meet the people who were with him, then David approached the people and greeted them.

9,000-9,999 - 1Kin 8:14 -- #9 a picture of Jesus turning to Israel when he enters the temple -- Then the king faced about and blessed all the assembly of Israel, while all the assembly of Israel was standing.

10,000-10,999 - 2Kin 17:16 -- #10 Last/final things - God can no longer tolerate Israel's sin -- They forsook all the commandments of the LORD their God and made for themselves molten images, {even} two calves, and made an Asherah and worshiped all the host of heaven and served Baal.

11,000-11,999 - 1Chr 23:16 -- The first things I think about with #1 is God and separation from him. Number's with ones are also strongly related to counting, and numbering. Maybe the most frequent association with #1 is about who it is we follow - God, kings, leaders, ourselves. This 1,000th section of scripture follows David's sinful count in -- The son of Gershom was Shebuel the chief.

12,000-12,999 - 2Chr 36:6 Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against him and bound him with bronze chains to take him to Babylon.

13,000-13,999 - Job 6:21 "Indeed, you have now become such, You see a terror and are afraid.

18,000-18,999 - Isa 18:2 Which sends envoys by the sea, Even in papyrus vessels on the surface of the waters. Go, swift messengers, to a nation tall and smooth, To a people feared far and wide, A powerful and oppressive nation Whose land the rivers divide.

20,000-20,999 - Jer 43:2 Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the arrogant men said to Jeremiah, "You are telling a lie! The LORD our God has not sent you to say, 'You are not to enter Egypt to reside there';

21,000-21,999 - Eze 22:23 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

22,000-22,999 - Dan 9:11 "Indeed all Israel has transgressed Your law and turned aside, not obeying Your voice; so the curse has been poured out on us, along with the oath which is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, for we have sinned against Him.

23,000-23,999 - Zech 8:23 "Thus says the LORD of hosts, 'In those days ten men from all the nations will grasp the garment of a Jew, saying, "Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.'""

28,000-28,999 - Rom 3:8 And why not say (as we are slanderously reported and as some claim that we say), "Let us do evil that good may come"? Their condemnation is just.

29,000-29,999 - 2Cor 11:10 As the truth of Christ is in me, this boasting of mine will not be stopped in the regions of Achaia.

30,000-30,999 - Heb 3:4 For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.
